I've always wanted to try this. I have a program to do it, but I never shot the right subject matter. Did you use a tripod?
Did you ever try to have it printed? How large?
What type of resolution was the original?
yes tripod using 500x telephoto sun in west and lighthouse (originally the subject) almost south. because of the telephoto, I needed 3rd shot to fill in between the other 2.
A neat effect I've done with film is to shoot the full moon with a 400mm lense, placing the moon in the upper right quadrant, then double exposing the roll again on some subject with a standard 50mm. Makes a big, romantic moon.
Hey, LLL. How did you do that in PhotoShop? That should be a whole lot easier than double exposures, though I do wonder what it does to the resolution. My finished products must have at least 300dpi for publication.
When you open PS or other photo editor, go to file and click on 'new', You can pick the resolution you want, but also make sure it's big enough to paste all the photos to be stitched. Use the 'MoveTool' to bring the 1st photo into the 'New' File, then 'move' the 2nd into the proper position, etc.
Line em'up, do some editing / cropping, and voila!
Actually pretty interesting. Do you know what the resolution of the pics are? I looked at it in a photo editor, and it looked like the debth of field looked consistant through the pic.
This was a fun one for my ego...I had three pictures. One where I looked like I knew what I was doing, a beautiful view of our San Bernardino Mountains in January, and a nice shot of Hole #7 from an elevated tee. A little stitching and . . .
I stitched this photo of the Seattle skyline together using 5 smaller photos. I used a Canon program that came with my camera to stitch them together automatically. I did not use a tripod, I took the photos from a distance and just kept snapping along the horizon:
