- I live in the country because I like my privacy and my dogs have room to run. I like to sit quietly on my porch and see deer in my yard at dusk. I read books about things I am interested in. I think about installing solar panels and being "off the grid", growing my own food in my garden, rug weaving starting with a sheep, raising chickens, and what it would really take to be self-sufficient. I am a recovering "Law & Order" addict and I still watch too much TV. I don't always fit in but I always get along.
