- In my life I have had three related careers; I was in broadcasting & public affairs in the United States Navy, I was an owner of commercial broadcasting properties, and I was an executive and chair of a national board of directors in public broadcasting.
I have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
My wife has returned to school to finish her doctorate and we have one child in undergraduate school. Three of our children are married and have children of their own but, sadly, they live so far away that we don't get to see our grandchildren often enough.
I retired from broadcasting five years ago and I am currently a human rights commissioner in our city. I have also been involved with cultural and civil rights organizations, and have served on our mayor's cable televison advisory board.
My wife and I have been traveling a lot in recent years and we have just completed (June) our personal tour of all the major league baseball parks; we liked the ballparks in Detroit, Arlington TX, and St Louis the best.
I enjoy music, photography, travel and baseball.
