As flawed as the Constitution was when written, one must grant the genius
of the founders with the tripartite concept of governance. Although peopled
with individuals with the same biases and prejudices as generally held by the
founders, the judicial branch of government has slowly, and continues to
evolve, as the protector of innate rights never assumed by the founders.
Every so often, the spirit of the words of the Declaration of Independence,
rather than the political document, the Constituti…

First Glow...........
Once upon a time a few summers back, I had just finished another night surfing the web. I shut down the computer and as the room went dark as it clicked off I prepared to turn in for the night. I turned around and noticed the glow from the almost full moon and how its luminescent lit up the back yard and surrounding area.
All at once I noticed out in a far corner of the garden, a firefly flashed it…

I have received some friend invites and some fun e-mails from Irony Plus members, none of which I have answered. I was not deliberately being rude.. ignoring mail is not something I do. Life is my excuse. I became so busy with Life that I had no time to come to this site and enjoy it as it was meant to be enjoyed. I am not complaining because I believe that a busy life is a good life, for me anyway. There became more responsibilites with the literacy program, a search for a new director loomed l…

i had been living in the house i was born in for the last 14 years. It was the scene of many crimes against me. Some were actual crimes (my brother molested me and my father tried to kill me) but most were just violations of my personhood and self-image. My son had been begging me for years to move. The house was in bad shape and i could not afford to do all that was necessary. So i abandoned it. The loan company has a shock coming. I moved into a senior citizen's high rise with security 24-7. S…

Little Johnny meets Barack Obama
Barack Obama was visiting a primary school and he visited one of the classes. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asked the president if he would like to lead the discussion on the word 'tragedy.' So our illustrious president asked the class for an example of a 'tragedy.'
One little boy stood up and offered: 'If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a tractor runs over him and kills…

Are you a kept woman and praise God for it????
Hope you can share this with other kept women!
I Am a ' Kept ' Woman?
You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,
But GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)
There were times when I thought I could go no longer,
But the LORD kept me moving (Gen 28:15)
At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,
But the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Psa. 13)
Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough,
But GOD has h…

The Department Of Defense briefed the President this morning.
They told OBAMA that 2 Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq .
To everyone's surprise, all the color drained from Obama's face.
Then he collapsed onto his desk, head in his hands, visibly shaken, almost in tears.
Finally, he composed himself and asked, 'Just how many is a brazilian?'
This is especially funny since he obviously has no understanding of billion or trillion either .

So you want to be a Travel Agent in D.C.?
Enjoy. If you think a travel agent's job is boring, just look at these examples. A DC airport ticket agent offers some examples of 'why' our country is in trouble!!
Thank Goodness I'm not a Travel Agent
1. I had a New H ampshire Congresswoman ask for an aisle seat so that her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window. (On an airplane!)
2. I got a call from a candidate's staffer, who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the len…

I have no legal training but it seems to me the current AIG mess reveals
an informative resolution of a clash of values. All of the discussion about
a contract to pay executives regardless of performance has never mentioned
the interests of stock holders. Individuals who invest in companies do so
for a return on their investment. When there are profits, they expect a return
on their investment. If a company fails to return a profit, or loses money, it
seems to me that it is theft to reward those…

If the American People ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money. first by
inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around (the
banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless
on the continent their fathers conquered."

I watched some of the discussion of the NGA on the state of
healthcare and what must be done. I was immediately reminded
of a conversation I had with my primary care physician nearly 20
years ago. He was an excellent doctor and one of the few I've had
in my life I actually listened to. Of course, part of the reason for that
was he took the time to listen to me. But, we talked about his
frustration with the direction of his profession and the financial
pressures he was experiencing.
A few years e…

Has been so long since I blogged here. Or visited here. I had a jewelry show right before Xmas and it did well. I was sick during Christmas. I was injured at work--a torn meniscus-left knee--and have been out of work for nearly 2 weeks. I go to see the orthopedist on Thursday--but my knee is still extremly swollen--My greatest activity level--sitting up--and then not more than 2 hours--even with it elevated. I am on crutches, etc. Not happy about that.
Right after new years, I have been bloggin…

Weight loss supplements have been around for a relatively short period of time, the earliest going back to the 1930s. None the less there has been enough research done on the most popular weight loss supplements to prove them either ineffective or unsafe or both. While there are thermogenic and fat blocking weight loss supplements the most effective weight loss supplement i

I was just going over my early posts here. I found one dedicated to my youngest son's father. I must have been out of my mind. I know i am a romantic, but was i really that in love? THe guy was a bum and a user and manipulator. We were using each other for our own purposes. He was a better user than i was. But thank you Jesus he is dead. Free at last, free at last, good God almighty i am free at last! The guy was a skunk and just plain no good. What was i thinking when i posted that homage to hi…

Dear Friend,
Give yourself a nice Christmas present this year by cleaning your mind of false beliefs. CHRISTmas can be a sad time for many good and worthy people who have the unfortunate habit of thinking NEGATIVETY. If you learn to reject false beliefs, and train yourself to focus on the truth, you will be blessed with a new-found joy.
Here is a sample of the kind of toxic thoughts that you need to reject immediately: "This is going to be another miserable Christmas; I don't deserve to be hap…

The warning that this MONSTER got, worked for a very long time. I NEVER DID ASK MY AUNT WHAT SHE DID OR SAID UNTIL LATER ON IN THE YEARS. I never went near him and I never let my sisters near him! I PROTECTED THEM. I never went for rides in cars with him, nor anywhere near him. TO ME HE WAS A MONSTER, THE BOOGIE MAN!
My baby sister who was born on Valentine's Day in 1959, was the one I watched like a hawk! Wherever I went to play she was with me. I NEVER TRUSTED HIM *NOR ANY MAN EXCEPT MY DADDY…

Looking at my father, was one of the hardest things I had to do. If you knew my father you would understand. His children were his children, he protected us! He provided for us. As I looked into his VERY SAD EYES, he said Lana I want to know everything, his temper flew out of control! Not anger for me, but for the MONSTER WHO DID THIS TO ME. I sat down and cried for a very long time it seemed, and said: First of all DAMN YOU sister FOR BRINGING THIS UP NOW!!! This should have been said under dif…

I swore what had happened to me, WOULD NEVER HAPPEN TO MY CHILDREN. I WAS AND STILL AM THE "GRIZZLY MAMA BEAR..." DON'T EVEN THINK OF MESSING WITH MY GIRLS! I will kill!" I VERY MUCH AM AND ALWAYS WILL BE.
VERY OVER PROTECTIVE. I know now that it was because of what happened to me. I self taught myself of signs of child abuse, molestation, and I WAS THE FIRST IN LINE TO KNOW WHAT A REAL PEDOPHILE WAS! My girls were always with me or my husband. We never had babysitters, if we did it was a family…
