Dear Friend,
Give yourself a nice Christmas present this year by cleaning your mind of false beliefs. CHRISTmas can be a sad time for many good and worthy people who have the unfortunate habit of thinking NEGATIVETY. If you learn to reject false beliefs, and train yourself to focus on the truth, you will be blessed with a new-found joy.
Here is a sample of the kind of toxic thoughts that you need to reject immediately: "This is going to be another miserable Christmas; I don't deserve to be happy; God must not like me; I'll never amount to anything; there must be something wrong with me; I never seem to gain people's confidence; I can't control my feelings; my happiness depends on the approval of others; I cry a lot so that people will think I'm sensitive and caring; I'm probably going to die without achieving anything worthwhile; I am unlovable."
This is what we refer to as "stinkin-thinkin." DO NOT LET THESE FALSE BELIEFS UNDERMINE YOUR CHANCES FOR HAPPINESS. Here are some truths of faith, which if you repeat them, it will change your life for the better.
"To be born is to be chosen, to be chosen is to be loved. God loves all his children, even the biggest sinners among them. I can control my feelings, all I have to do is control my thoughts. Your feelings are the direct by-product of the thoughts you allow yourself to think. Think miserable thoughts and you will feel depressed. So say no to negative thoughts and stop living in a mental swamp.
Happiness is a choice; therefore why don't you decide to be happy? Believe it or not you can start building up your positive vibes by putting on the indomitable will to be grateful. St. Paul said, "Rejoice always, and be grateful in all circumstances for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. (I Thess. 5:16) Why not try it?
Repeat a set of self-affirming thoughts, and begin to believe that happiness is possible. Think through your beliefs, and live by faith not feelings. Feelings are often lies; they need to be rejected.
Happy people do whatever it takes to keep their spirit healthy and happy. They avoid self-defeating thoughts, and follow Gospel thinking. There is plenty of self-denial and sacrifice built into your life and it can all be offered up to God with a joyful heart.
As a Christian, it is important to remember what Jesus said about joy in his public ministry, I have told you all these things that may be in you and your joy may be complete." God wants you to be happy. You can do this. There are plenty of choices you can make that will lead to a happier frame of mind. Here are a few truths that flow from the fact that God loves you. He chose you to be born and to live a wonderful, creative life.
In alphabetical order, memorize these affirmations and repeat them over and over. You'll soon feel a lot better because they are all, by the grace of God true.
